A change is the difference between two pulls of the same state registry: a record that appeared, a status that flipped, or a renewal date that moved. It is a fact about the public record on a date — not news, not an opinion about the business, and not a claim that anything happened on the day we caught it.
Where a state publishes no history, we can only report what we saw and when we saw it. We say so on the record rather than inferring a date.

What a record means
A license record is one license as published by one state registry — not one business. A single company can hold many licenses across types and states, and the same premises can appear under more than one record, so record counts are always higher than company counts.
Freshness
Three separate facts, kept separate on purpose: when each record was last pulled, when the import job last succeeded, and when these figures were computed. Collapsing them into “updated daily” is exactly the overclaim we avoid.
Corrections
If a record about you is wrong, tell us through the intake on the trust center. Corrections are logged. Claiming your listing is free and never depends on paying us.
