Kali Mist

Kali Mist is the flagship sativa of Serious Seeds, released in the early 1990s from a cross of two sativa-dominant parents the breeder has never named. Through the 1990s coffeeshop era it became a benchmark for long-flowering, clear-leaning sativas, and breeder materials cite competition placements including hydro category wins in 1995 and 2000. Listed at roughly 90 percent sativa in catalog descriptions, it remains one of the few legacy Dutch sativas in continuous production under its original name.

Profile

Plants finish with long, spear-shaped colas of small, airy calyxes rather than dense nuggets, light green with fine pistils and a modest but even frost. The aroma is commonly described as spicy incense and sweet herbal tea with citrus brightness and a resinous, almost peppery undertone. Flavor tends to be light and spicy-sweet with a clean finish. Terpinolene, myrcene, and limonene are among the terpenes most frequently reported in lab testing of flower grown from the seed line. The open bud structure is characteristic of the strain rather than a sign of poor growing.
